What we did today:

Phrasal verbs

  • The children have grown out of their winter boots, and we need to buy new ones. (= their feet are too big!)
  • The kids have a lot of stuff they have grown out of.  (= become too old for)
  • I often wake up  just before my alarm goes off. (= rings)
  • I switched off the alarm before it went off.
  • The fireworks went off at New Year.
  • Go on! Finish what you were saying.  (= continue)
  • I need to get ready and go out  (=leave)
  • Eat up your breakfast!  It’s getting late  (finish)
  • We often have to deal with problems that arise.  (= handle)
  • to deal with complaints.
