lonely: feeling sad because you are alone, negative feeling

  1. I like to be alone sometimes, but not for too long, otherwise I get lonely.

  3. She was a lonely person who needed someone to talk to.
  4. She lives alone in a small house by the sea.
  5. After moving to a new city, he felt very lonely and wanted to meet new people.
