B1 Vocabulary and grammar – Lesson 8

English in the Morning #8  What’s the date today?  Wednesday, 27th September

It was misty this morning (= light fog)  There was mist over the sea.

The day after tomorrow is Friday.  The day before yesterday was Monday.

They’re getting married next year (2024)

They got married last year. (2022)

I saw him the month/year before last.   (July/2021). I saw him two years ago. (July/2021)

I will see him in two weeks. I will see him the week after next.

I get my eyes tested every three years.

We have lessons twice (USA two times) a week.

Brazil is 5 hours behind Sweden.  Korea is 7 hours ahead of Sweden.

The dinosaurs have been extinct for millions of years. The panda, the polar bear and the Himlayan snow leopard are examples of endangered species.

He didn’t participate in the meeting because he had nothing to say.  (= join in)

The car was towed away/wheelclamped because it was parked illegally.
