Expressions with “off”

  •  I wouldn’t eat that meat. It think it is going off.   (= old and green)
  • The plane took off an hour late.  (opp = landed)
  • The child fell off her bike and bruised her elbow.
  • The match was called off because of heavy rain.  (= cancelled)
  • You know you’re a boring speaker when your entire audience nods/dozes off.
  • Please stay/keep off the grass.
  • She got in her car and drove off.
