Idiomatic language:

put my foot down – determined not to change my mind
stick to my guns – stubbornly make a decision and refuse to change it

go with your gut – trust your instincts, feelings
keep up with the conversation – understand what people are saying
Most common email error: I look forward to seeing you.- don’t forget the ‘ing’ after the verb.

Subtle – ‘b’ is silent, the same in ‘debt’

Homework: Do the perfect aspect exercises on the ‘Grammar Focus’ and Workbook sheets

Class 4

Thrifty(adj) – don’t spend money needlessly

Mean / tight-fisted (adj)

Culture clash – when cultures come into conflict

Culture shock – when a person feels anxiety or alienation due to difficulties adapting to a new culture.

Weigh up the pros and cons – consider your options
