Lesson 8

The topic for our eigth lesson was ‘Children Who Kill’. We discussed famous cases of children who committed murder. We also discussed imagined scenarios, and what appropriate punishments would be. We also discussed possible societal cause of child murderers.

Lesson 7

The topic for our seventh lesson was ‘National Stereotypes’. We discussed national stereotypes of various countries, and whether we felt they were fair or not. We also discussed if Sweden’s stereotypical views of countries differed to the views of other countries.

Lesson 6

The topic for our sixth lesson was ‘Sexual Harassment’. We discussed our personal opinions of what was considered sexual harassment, and also various imaginary scenarios and what we thought would be appropriate responses in those situations.

Lesson 5

The topic for our fifth lesson was ‘Marriage – for better or for worse’. We discussed if the idea of marriage for life was an outdated concept. We also discussed divorce, and if people decide to divorce as an ‘easy option’ rather than work harder to maintain a marriage.

Lesson 4

The topic for our fourth lesson was ‘Designer Babies’. We discussed what changes we would, if we could have, made to our appearance and personality before we were born. We then discussed the possible benefits, and negatives, of any potential scientific advances that may allow us to do this for babies born in the future.

Lesson 3

The topic for our third lesson was ‘Changing Sex’. We discussed a range of characteristics and whether we associated them more strongly with males or females, or if we considered them to be a gender neutral characteristic. We also discussed our attitudes towards transgenderism in a variety of contexts.

Lesson 2

In our second lesson our topic was ‘Death’. We discussed attitudes towards death, and how they can vary in different cultures. We also discussed funerals, burials and cremations.

Lesson 1

In our first lesson our topic was ‘It should be banned’. We discussed if various activities and situations were banned in your country, and also if you think they should or shouldn’t be banned.
