Class 6

Class 6:

We reviewed adverbs of frequency by going through the homework together and then doing a group activity where you had to match questions (with adverbs) to the correct answers.
Then we attempted our first listening exercise of the course, which went surprisingly well. The exercise was a lead in to a discussion about ‘time expressions’ such as ‘once a week’ or ‘every day’. After a quick chat about their position in a sentence and why we say ‘once, twice’ but not ‘thrice’ ( at least not anymore), we had another group discussion about how regularly we do various common activities.
We finished the class, as we often do, with a Kahoot. This time it was a Kahoot about the position of adverbs of frequency as well as various time expressions.
Katja was the winner 🙂

Here are the notes from this evening’s class (not a lot really) – Class 6 notes

Homework:

Once again, I’d like you to do a writing assignment for the weekend. This time I’d like you to write about your favourite holiday destination. It has to be a place you go to regularly so that you can use the present tense. It should be no less than 100 words. Be sure to use a number of adverbs in your text. Here are some lines that I would write about Öland (where we holiday quite a lot):

“We usually go in August when we know we’ll both be off work and when the weather is usually nice. The kids love to travel there, as they never get to see the sea in Stockholm. The first thing they do is change into their swim clothes and rush to the beach. We don’t often cook when we’re there, as we usually eat out.”

Something like that, though please use you own ideas (though you can steal a little if you want).
