Class 2

Hi all,

Can you watch this video before the class tomorrow. Thanks a lot.

Present tenses in English can be very confusing for students as there are a number of tenses that describe different ways of talking about the present. This can pose difficulties for students who may not have something similar in their own language.

If you have any questions before the class tomorrow about how we use the Present Simple do not hesitate to contact me.

After you’ve finished watching the video can you do this quiz (just click on the word).

See you tomorrow,

Mark

Today we looked at the difference between an adjective and a noun, how we add an article before many nouns, and how we create plurals be adding an ‘s’ to the end (and how they’re are exceptions to how this is done).

We went through the grammar rules around the Present Simple of ‘to be’ and then moved on to how we form the present simple of ‘action’ verbs – ones with ‘do’ or ‘don’t’. And how it gets confusing and difficult when we use the 3rd person in present simple (he, she, it).

We finished off by playing a game of Kahoot! 🙂

Here are the notes for this evening.

Homework:

Can you do parts 1 & 2 of this sheet from  Workbook 1B.

Can you write about a someone that you know. It should be written in the same way as this.

If you have any questions get in touch. Have a great weekend.
