A sudden period of extremely cold weather is often called a <strong>cold snap<\/strong>.<br \/>\n6. Very strong, cold wind that feels painful on the skin is known as <strong>a biting wind<\/strong>.<br \/>\n7. A severe snowstorm with strong winds is called <strong>a blizzard<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hot Weather<\/strong><br \/>\n8. When the temperature is extremely high, almost unbearable, we can describe it as <strong>scorching<\/strong><br \/>\n9. A prolonged period of very hot weather is called <strong>a heatwave<\/strong> which can affect crops and water supplies.<br \/>\n10. When the heat is oppressive and makes you sweat heavily, it is called <strong>sweltering<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Wind<\/strong><br \/>\n11. Extremely strong winds capable of causing damage are called <strong>gale-force winds<\/strong>.<br \/>\n12.
